We are excited to announce expanded support for custom events. Our new server-side custom events API accepts events from outside systems such as your corporate website, CRM/POS systems, or social media.

You can now instrument your servers and other backend systems to send events to Airship in order to send automated messages using custom event triggers.

Use Cases

Server-side custom events enable a number of new automated messaging options, tying in user lifecycle events from outside of your app. Here are a few examples:

• Trigger an automated message based on an abandoned cart, whether it is on a website or in your mobile app.

• Trigger an automated message based on a user making a high-value transaction, creating a higher level of loyalty.

• Trigger an automated message when a user hits a specific event in your customer lifecycle, such as signing up for a newsletter or account, or achieving a new status level.
