Use journey templates

Journey templates are prefilled journeys you can use as starting points for common messaging scenarios: re-engagement and a welcome series. They are fully editable, and an onscreen tour leads you through the editing process.

This document describes each journey template, provides steps for accessing them, and lists considerations for editing. See the Journey Composer Tutorial for full documentation about creating a new journey and composing its messages.

Types of journey templates

The following describes the template default settings.

Use a journey template

  1. Click Create and select the Welcome Series or Re-engagement journey template. The journey will open to the Journey ManagerA preview of the messages in a journey, with options for editing its settings, content, and status. .

  2. Follow the onscreen tour and edit the journey:

    • Journey settings: Make sure your Trigger and Outcomes are appropriately configured for the journey’s goal.
       Note

      For journeys created using the Re-engagement template, you cannot edit the Conversion selection in the Outcomes step. Users will exit the journey and be counted as a Reactivation in the Performance ReportA report that compares audience behavior to a journey’s goal. It displays performance metrics and a link to the message report for each message in the journey. and journey tests.

    • Messages:
      • Delay and conditions: Adjust the delay and/or add tag conditions, as necessary. For journeys using the Re-engagement template, there is no delay setting for the first message.
      • Content: Make sure to edit the placeholder text in each message, adding brand-specific content. For a Welcome Series, highlight features that your users can get started with right away. For Re-engagement, highlight the features and/or deals that your users are missing out on.
      • Delivery: All messages are set to Send immediately by default.
      • Add more messages, if desired.

After setting up your new journey, you can:

  • Test the journey before starting it. See: Test a Journey.

  • Click   Start journey to make the journey available to your audience.
