Manage Automation Limits

Automation limits prevent you from over-notifying users who repeatedly meet Automation rule criteria, capping automated messages per device within a time interval, e.g. a maximum of 4 messages every 10 hours.

Automation limits occur at the project level and apply to all messages created with the Automation composer. You can also create a Rule Limit for a specific message. For example, if you create an Automation rule with a trigger that is likely to occur frequently, a Rule Limit would prevent the repeated delivery of the same message to the user. See:

Automation limit indicators are in multiple locations:

Automation Composer: In the Setup step of the Automation composer, at the bottom of the Rule Limits option when setting up Event Triggers.

Messages Overview: After opening a messaging project, on the left side of the screen, below the list of views. You can return by going to Messages » Messages Overview.

Message Report: In the header of an Automated message's Message Report.

 Note

Automation limits do not apply to In-App Automation.
